Bart Lafere
Bart joined Nansen in 1993 and helped to establish the organisation. Bart obtained his social work qualification in his native Belgium. He achieved his Assessor and Verifier’s Award. He is a qualified practice teacher in social work and he is a senior instructor in verbal and safety interventions.
Hobbies: family time, sailing, diving, the outdoors and photography

Sarah Welch
Sarah joined Nansen in 1996. Sarah obtained her social work qualification in 2000 and has achieved her Assessor’s Award 1.

Senior Training Support Worker
Dieter Devriendt
I started my journey at Nansen as a student, doing a work placement for my social work qualification in 2002.
After a successful placement, I started work at Redcastle Station in 2004 and moved from Belgium to Scotland.
I have achieved my assessor and verifier award via SQA and my registered manager’s award with the Open University.
Some hobbies of mine are walking, drama, badminton, reading and watching tv.
Senior Housing Support Worker
Ulrike Cornil
I started working at Nansen in 1999 as a training support worker, then worked for the local authority and returned to Nansen to help establish the housings support service. I have gained my registered managers award, Assessor’s award and have completed courses about autism and mental health. In my spare time.
I enjoy films, spending time with friends and pottery
Senior Residential Support Worker
Mariusz Stefaniak
Mariusz joined Nansen in 2007. He obtained a bachelor of Arts in teaching English as a foreign language in his native Poland. He achieved his award in Health and Social care level 4, his Registered Managers Award with the Open University and his Assessor’s award with SQA.
Hobbies: Sailing, kitesurfing, diving, motorbikes.
Senior Tigh Na Cloich Support Worker
Vicky Millar
Vicky qualified as a registered general nurse and has a BA in General Arts.
Vicky has achieved her Managers Award at the Open University.
Hobbies- diving, swimming, canoeing
